Jaded in Emerald City

Adventurous romps in Seattle city experienced by yours truly

While Our Blood’s Still Young..

July 31, 2010

I can’t believe the summer is over and I’m leaving Seattle. It feels like the last 3 months have been a whirlwind. I found out that I was moving here, then I did, and now it’s over? That was so fast.

This opportunity could not have come at a better time in my life. It’s exactly what I needed to start being me again; something I had lost sight of before I left. Sometimes, when you hold on to something so tight, it can just suck all the life right out of you so you have no energy for anything or anyone else. Rearranging that energy and focusing it on my goals turned out to be a much healthier and more enjoyable alternative. J

I think I was wrapped up in so many old pieces of my life that I forgot the reason why they were old in the first place. I lost sight of the catalyst of all the confusion to begin with. My life has been headed in one direction for a while and now the inevitable is taking its course. Seattle was the ultimate resuscitation of my dreams turning into reality, and a reminder that I really was willing to sacrifice to make those dreams come true and I shouldn’t feel bad about that.

I feel like I’m ready for all new everything now. Moving across the country really helped me realize what relationships are important in that if something is barely hanging on when you are in its presence, you’ll be much happier if you just let it go. This has been true in several aspects of my life this summer.

I am really glad to see my family and friends again, though and I can’t wait to start my senior year of college. Not only because it is going to be crazy busy yet amazing, but also because I just want to start living my life.

Until tomorrow..

P.S. I’ll try to get my outfit posts up in a couple days when I go to the airport. Pretty much all my stuff is packed right now.. L
